Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level extension is the single TLD supposed to be for personal websites only. These domain names can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are known by. Initially, solely third-level registrations were allowed, so if you wished to purchase john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Existing third-level domains remained functional.

Through our firm, you can purchase your .NAME domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to change the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our firm if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registrar company and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific terms on who can reserve a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the concept behind its establishment alive, the Registry may verify who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.

The dot NAME generic top-level extension is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no further cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the precise spelling in your native language.
